We're pleased to share an important milestone: the successful completion of the first StaffUp ASAP training cohort. None of this would have been possible without the dedication of the participants, agencies, and partners who made it a success.
A Strong Start
What began as an effort to strengthen the workforce supporting people with disabilities in achieving meaningful employment has shown real promise. Across 23 VR agencies, 42 participants completed the pilot modules with a 99% completion rate, a result that reflects the genuine commitment within this field.
As Beth Gaertner, Director of Education at Stout Vocational Rehabilitation Institute, noted: "These early indicators suggest a strong demand for tools and training focused on workforce development within the VR and disability services systems."
The training itself proved equal to that demand. As Heather Guenette, a Vocational Rehabilitation Specialist with more than three years in the field, put it:
Join a Future Training Group

Looking Ahead
StaffUp ASAP plans to expand beyond VR agencies in 2027, extending these opportunities to community rehabilitation providers, workforce development organizations, and others working to support people with disabilities. This growth reflects a shared recognition that workforce development is essential at every level of the system, not just within VR agencies.
